Pakistan is a beautiful country with a wealth of natural resources, lush grasslands, and breathtaking mountain landscapes. It is a country that relies greatly on water resources for irrigation because it is an agricultural nation. It's interesting to note that Pakistan has about 150 dams. Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa contain the majority of them (KPK). These dams provide water and energy, but they are also popular family destinations. People travel to these locations and enjoy picnics by the lake's shoreline while participating in water sports. 

The largest hydropower dam, Tarbela Dam, is situated in the Haripur area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This dam is nearly 2.7 kilometres long and rises 469 feet above its base level. It is Pakistan's largest dam. Producing electricity was its main objective. Regular tourists are not permitted to visit dams but you can take permission from the local government and enjoy fishing in the serene mountains. 

The Mangla Dam is Pakistan's second-largest hydroelectric and irrigation facility. Tourists can reach Ramkot Fort by boat in ten minutes. From a hill over the lake, you may sit and take pleasure in the expansive views. Lake Mangra, a lovely tourist destination, is part of the Mangla Dam. Fishing, jet skiing, and rafting are some enjoyable water sports you can partake.

The next item on the list is Diamer Bhasha Dam, located in KPK's Kohistan District. Its minor fraction is located in Diamer, Gilgit Baltistan. Construction on this dam is ongoing. Once completed, it will be the tallest dam in the world. It will have a storage capacity of 74 million acre-feet and a maximum height of roughly 270 meters. Additionally, this dam has the potential to help our nation's economy. 

It is now ever easy to travel 20 kilometres from Peshawar to another water reservoir in Pakistan, which is situated near the Kabul River built by Pakistan and Canada is the Warsak Dam. Many people come to this location to go boating and fishing. A guesthouse will also be provided for night stays. However, you must first request WAPDA's authorization before doing anything else. 

One must Visit Hub Dam, which is located on the Balochistan-Sindh border. On the Hub River, there is another reservoir belonging to Pakistan. The principal source of water for Karachi is this dam, which is located in a distance of 56 kilometres. The migrating birds, pelicans, ducks, and cranes reside there in their natural habitat, making it more like a wildlife sanctuary. Visitors from Karachi adore coming here to go camping, fishing, and swimming. You can also reserve your guest house for overnight stays. 

Beautiful Namal Dam is located next to Namal Valley in Mianwali, Punjab. Another popular destination there is Namal Lake, which has a 5.5 square kilometre surface area. On two sides, the property is surrounded by mountains, while on the other, by agricultural plains. People adore coming here to take part in various activities such as fishing, boating, and paragliding. This dam serves as both a gathering place for migratory birds and a destination for birdwatchers. 

Rawal Dam is another reservoir in Pakistan. It comes with a lovely view of Marghala Hills, there is also a well-liked location called Rawal Lake. A wonderful view of the lake, hills and the twin cities can be seen from this idyllic picnic location, which is surrounded by thick green trees. You can go swimming, boating, fishing, water skiing, and diving. A club also hosts several water sports competitions. Here, animals, reptiles, and several bird species can be found. 

One of the most popular tourist destinations and a reservoir is Khanpur Dam. It stands at a height of 170 meters and is home to Khanpur Lake, one of Pakistan's most stunning lakes. The Khanpur Dam's numerous resorts greatly impact encouraging tourism in this region. There are numerous water sports offered, including parasailing, paragliding, and scuba diving, which are enough to heighten visitors' excitement.
